Earth seen from orbit over West Africa, ringed by a dense shell of satellites. Two satellites on crossing orbits collide, and trails of orange debris stream ahead along both orbits.

Privacy

This page describes what Kessler@home stores about you and what it publishes. It applies to this BOINC server; the public website at kesslerathome.org has its own notice.

What we store

  • Account: your email address, the name you choose, an account key, and optionally a country, a web URL and a profile. Your email address is never shown publicly.
  • Computers: for each computer attached to the project, the hardware and operating system details BOINC reports (CPU and GPU model, memory, OS version), its IP address, and a log of the tasks it has run.
  • Forum activity: posts, private messages and preferences, if you use the message boards.

What is public

Like all BOINC projects, we publish statistics: your account name, country, team, credit totals and your computers' hardware details (not their IP addresses). These are exported daily as XML files used by cross-project statistics sites. You can hide your computers from your public profile in your project preferences.

Cookies

A cookie keeps you logged in. The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from your account page. Credit already granted stays in the aggregate statistics without your name.
